Blown Machine Screw/barrel wear

One very important parameter to monitor is the screw.barrel wear.When the screw os barrels is worn,it ircreases the residence time of the polymer in the system since the baclflow rate in the extruder will be increased.
As a result,running the same polymer at the same RPM and barrel profiles,one would oberve
a higher melt temperature and drop in specific throughput which is defined as kg/hr/rpm.
It is a very good pratice to monitor the melt temperature and specific throughput over time for a specific resin.
