Effect of phosphites on HDPE

Certain high performance phosphites(PS-2 and PS-3) have given

hydrolytic reaction during storage in HDPE produced with Cr-type

catalyst on silica carrier.

The result of this is a higher tendency for gel- and stripe formation

in finished articles after a few months' storage of HDPE raw materials.

The same phenomenon does not happen with PS-1.
